Sensei Renee Levine

Renee is a 21 year old fourth degree black belt in Shotokan karate. Beginning at the age of 8, her dedication and passion for karate has continued to grow. At first glance, she may seem like a small, shy girl, but when she enters the ring she is anything but. When she enters the ring, her competitors are shocked by how strong and mean she actually is. For the last 10 years, she has competed in hundreds of tournaments throughout New England earning titles including grand champion in fighting and state and national titles for fighting. She is also a five time recipient for Competitor of the Year under AFACT Ratings. Her teaching style shows her kind and patient nature and has earned her a Hall of Fame induction for Female Shotokan Instructor of the Year in 2006. She strives to teach her students not only about martial arts but tries to instill the importance of believing in yourself, never giving up and most importantly to have fun. After being a member of Team AFA for several years, she is now one of the proud coaches to lead this team of dedicated and talented students. Even after 13 years, her love for martial arts is as strong as the day she began!

April 2010- Became one of the coaches for Team AFA

November 2006- Achieved rank of 4th degree black belt

2006- Earned Hall of Fame Induction for female Shotokan instructor of the year

2005- Achieved rank of 3rd degree black belt

February 2003- Achieved rank of 2nd degree black belt

June 2001- Achieved rank of 1st degree black belt

2000- Began taking gymnastics at In Flight in North Haven, CT

1999- Became member of Team AFA

1997- Began karate at AFA Karate in North Branford, CT
